Invoices

View your billing history, download invoice PDFs, and understand what happens when an invoice payment fails.

Every charge on your subscription produces a Stripe invoice. The Invoices page lists your complete billing history and gives you a PDF for each invoice — useful for expense reports, accounting, and VAT records.

View your billing history#

Go to Billing → Invoices. The Billing History table shows, for each invoice:

Column Meaning
Date When the invoice was created
Invoice Number Stripe's invoice reference (quote this in support requests)
Amount The amount due, in your billing currency
Status The invoice state, e.g. PAID or OPEN

Two actions are available per invoice:

  • PDF — download the invoice as a PDF
  • Pay now — shown on an open invoice: retries it on your default card. If your bank asks for confirmation, the check opens right there. If the payment fails you see the reason and can choose Update payment method.

The list loads in pages; choose Load more to go further back.

If you've never been charged, the page shows No invoices.

Invoice details

The billing address you set in Billing settings appears on your invoices. Update it before the next renewal if your company details change.

Receipts after every payment#

Each time a payment goes through — your first subscription, a renewal, seats you buy, a plan change — the account owner receives:

  • an email confirming the amount, the plan and seats, and the period it covers, with the invoice PDF attached;
  • a notification in the bell at the top of the console, which opens this page.

Nothing is sent for a free trial starting, since nothing is charged. If the PDF couldn't be attached, the email says so and you can download it here at any time.

Only the account owner is emailed

On an organization plan the receipt goes to the organization's owner. Receipts always go to the owner; colleagues who manage billing can download every invoice from this page.

Failed and open invoices#

When Stripe can't collect a renewal payment:

  1. The invoice stays open and your subscription is marked PAST_DUE.
  2. A grace period starts (7 days by default) during which you keep your plan's features.
  3. Fix the problem — update your card in Payment methods or choose Pay now on the open invoice.
  4. Once the invoice is paid, the subscription returns to ACTIVE and the grace period is cleared.

If the invoice remains unpaid past the grace period, the subscription is cancelled and the plan ends: the account goes read-only for 14 days (you can still view and export everything), then locks — your data is kept, and subscribing again restores full access at once. A paid plan never drops you to Free. See How plan changes work. All of these transitions are recorded in the audit trail.
