Overview

What the Family Management Hub is and how family organizers manage members, shared vaults, password health and generator rules from one place.

The Family Management Hub is the home base for whoever runs a Family plan. From one screen you can reach everything an organizer needs: members, shared vaults, the family's password health and generator rules. See Tenants & plans for how the family plan fits into PulsVault's plan model.

What's in the hub#

The Family settings sidebar groups the hub into four areas:

Area What you manage there
Overview The family's seats, who is in it, and shortcuts to everything below
Members & Invites Invite people, resend or revoke invitations, remove members
Shared Family Vault Choose which vaults the family shares and grant each member read-only or read & write access
Security Center Weak, reused and breached password counts per member
Password Rules The minimum your family's password generator produces

The Overview page#

Open Family settings → Overview. The page is headed with your family's name and shows:

  • Family plan — "3 of 6 seats used", with how many invitations are pending, a meter, the number of active members and the seats still available. Manage billing takes you to Billing.
  • A tag under each person's email: Organizer, Pending or Member.
  • Shared family vaults — how many vaults are shared with the family, or "No vault is shared with your family yet", and Open shared vault.
  • Two quick actions: Members & Invites ("Invite people and manage seats") and Password Policy ("Set a minimum strength rule for members").

Family plan at a glance#

Capacity Family plan
Members Up to 6
Vaults Unlimited
Items per vault Unlimited
Storage 5 GB for the whole family

One flat price covers the whole family — there is no per-seat billing, which is also why the 5 GB is one pool rather than a figure per person. See Plans & subscription to change or renew the plan, and the plan comparison for what other plans include.

Roles#

The members list labels each person Organizer, Admin or Member:

  • Organizer — runs the family. Manages members, chooses the shared vaults and grants access to them, and sets the family's generator rules.
  • Member — everyone else. Full personal use of PulsVault plus access to the shared vaults they've been given. Members manage their own side from My family.

What the organizer can — and cannot — see#

PulsVault is zero-knowledge, and that boundary holds inside a family too:

  • Each member has their own account, own keys, and own primary vault. The organizer can never read a member's private items or recover their Access Key.
  • Organizer controls govern policies and sharing (generator rules, which vaults are shared) — not content. Sharing still re-wraps vault keys per recipient on-device.
  • The organizer does see password-health counts per member in the Family Security Center — how many weak, reused, aging or breached passwords each person has. Counts only: never an item name, a site, or a password. Family members are told this on their own family page.
Emergency Kits are per person

Because the organizer cannot reset a member's keys, make sure every family member saves their own Emergency Kit when they join. See Create your account & Emergency Kit.

Next steps#

  1. Invite your family members
  2. Set your family's password rules
  3. Choose the vaults your family shares
