Change your plan#

  1. Go to Billing → Subscription and select Change plan.
  2. Choose a plan. Before you confirm, we show the exact amount due today — the new plan's price minus an automatic credit for the unused time on your current plan.
  3. Pick monthly or annual billing (annual is discounted). Switching cycle during an upgrade resets your billing date to today.
  4. If you have not saved a billing address yet, the selector first asks for one (Add your billing address) — we need it for your invoices and taxes. Select Save & continue to payment, or Back to plans to step out. Your choice is held while you fill it in.
  5. Confirm. The difference is charged immediately on your saved payment method and the new plan is active right away. If the credit is larger than the charge, the surplus stays on your account and offsets future invoices (no refunds). Cancelling is its own action, below.

Available upgrade paths: Free → Premium, Solo Professional, or Family · Premium → Solo Professional or Family · Team → Business. Solo Professional, Family and Business cannot be upgraded further, and Solo Professional and Family do not lead to each other.

Enterprise appears in the plan selector with a Coming soon badge. It cannot be bought yet, and no plan upgrades into it from the selector; if you need it, contact sales.

Plans only move up — with one exception

The only way down is Business to Team, and only when your organization fits Team's limits. Nothing returns you to Free: cancelling gives you 14 days of read-only access to export, after which the account locks — your data is kept, never deleted, and re-subscribing restores it instantly. How plan changes work explains the full picture in one page.

Who can manage billing

Billing is available to account owners and to organization roles with org:subscription:manage / org:billing:read. See Roles & permissions.

Seats (teams & businesses)#

Team, Business and Enterprise are billed per seat. Buy a seat before you invite someone — it is charged now for the rest of the billing period (during a trial with a card on file, seats you add are free until the trial ends and billed from then on) — and remove seats nobody uses to bill fewer from the next invoice. See Seat management.

Subscribe for the first time#

When you choose a paid plan from the plan selector (and confirm your billing address), a Complete your subscription panel opens beside the page. It shows the plan, the billing period and the price, with Stripe's secure payment form underneath. Choose Pay and subscribe.

  • If your bank asks you to confirm, the check opens in the same panel.
  • A payment method that takes you to your bank's own page returns you to PulsVault when you are done.
  • A declined card shows the reason and keeps the form open so you can try another.
  • Change plan takes you back to the plan selector.
  • After payment the panel says Finalizing your payment for a few seconds, then closes and your plan is active.

An Enterprise contract is activated the same way: Billing → Overview → Activate contract opens the same panel at your contract's price and committed seats.

Cancel or resume#

On Billing → Subscription, Cancel subscription stops the next renewal; you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for, and nothing is refunded. While a plan is set to end, a notice shows the date and Resume subscription undoes it.

Only the person who pays can cancel or resume: the account owner on a personal or family plan, and the organization's owner on an organization plan. A billing delegate sees the plan but not the button. An Enterprise contract is not cancelled here, and cannot be resumed from here.

Subscribing during a free trial#

You don't have to wait for your trial to end. From Billing → Overview:

  • No card added yet — choose Subscribe now and complete checkout. Your trial keeps its remaining days and the first charge is on the day it would have ended — unless fewer than two days are left, in which case checkout charges straight away.
  • Card already added (the plan shows a Next billing date while still on trial) — choose Subscribe now to end the trial today. You see the amount first; it is charged at once for your current seats, and if the card is declined nothing changes and the trial continues.

Billing essentials#

  • Payment methods — manage cards and the default method
  • Invoices — download PDFs, retry failed payments
  • Usage & limits — track storage, users, and vault counts against your plan
  • Billing settings — tax IDs, billing address, renewal notifications
  • Your plan — what family members and organization members see when someone else pays
Payment details

Enter card details only in PulsVault's PCI-compliant payment forms. PulsVault staff will never ask for your full card number.
